Our scope of services spans outpatient care, inpatient care and procedures. We have experienced doctors in the management of gastroenterology and hepatology cases. We provide the standard endoscopic procedures, including endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy, in addition to percutaneous gastrostomy tube insertion, breath testing for H. pylori and capsule endoscopy.

GI Services
Endoscopy Services:The department has an elegant endoscopy suite with the latest videoendoscopes with digital recording facility. It offers a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services including biopsies, removal of foreign bodies, dilatation of strictures, treatment of GI bleeding, polypectomies, mucosal resections for treating early cancers and metallic stenting for palliative treatment of luminal cancers.
ERCP:This is a specialized endoscopy that deals with pathologies of bile duct and pancreatic duct. It is useful for evaluation and treatment of obstructive jaundice, pancreatitis, biliary and pancreatic infections, palliative treatment of biliary cancers etc.
Screening for GI Cancers for early cancer detection:American Association of Gastroenterologists now recommends routine colonoscopy above the age of 50 years for all individuals for early detection of colorectal cancers. Screening for Barrett’s esophagus and early esophageal cancer is also recommended for patients with chronic history in excess of five years of heartburn.
GI Manometryis a science that studies motion and pressure characteristics of various parts of GI tract. It is helpful in assessing patients with swallowing difficulties, obscure noncardiac chest or abdominal pain, constipation, anal incontinence etc.
Visceral sensitivity and biofeedback:The GI physiology lab offers facility to measure luminal sensitivity and biofeedback for the management of functional GI disorders, anal pain, anal incontinence etc.
Esophageal pH metry:It quantifies exactly the acid reflux episodes in apatient. It is required for the diagnosis and management of gastroesophageal reflux diseases particularly before surgical management. It is also very useful in the evaluation of chronic cough, bronchial asthma and chest pain.

Hepatology Services
Liver Biopsy:It offers percutaneous liver biopsies with ultrasound localization. The pathology department has facility for processing the tissue with special and objective stains. The liver biopsies are required to manage chronic hepatitis, unexplained elevation of liver enzymes, nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, various congenital liver diseases etc.
Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis: Hepatitis B and C are among the worst chronic morbid conditions which left untreated lead to terminal liver disease and liver failure. With advances in antiviral treatment and development of interferon, these are no more incurable diseases. We offer counselling and treatment as per the latest and internationally accepted guidelines.
